One of the core competencies Cristo Rey Boston students are asked to develop is the ability to think critically, and express themselves via music, art, poetry, and written reflections.
The Humanities and Theology programs deliberately look for opportunities for students to express themselves through the writing process, allowing students the time and space to reflect creatively on topics discussed in the classroom and current events. Additionally, Cristo Rey Boston is blessed to have a robust art program, allowing students to use various artistic mediums to convey emotions.
Beginning in 2020, student essays and artwork were compiled into the Knight Light Literary Journals. Volume 1 is an Advent Reflection, and Volume II a reflection on Black History Month.
