Welcome and thank you for your interest in Cristo Rey Boston High School.
Cristo Rey Boston is a Catholic, college preparatory high school located in the Savin Hill neighborhood section of Dorchester, across from the Savin Hill Red Line MBTA station. Cristo Rey Boston serves strictly the young men and women of the city of Boston who come from under-resourced circumstances.
In addition to a traditional high school curriculum, Cristo Rey Boston also includes a unique Corporate Work Study Program that allows our students to earn a majority of their tuition, thus allowing the school to maintain an affordability for families. Our students spend five days a month working in an entry-level position in various corporate offices throughout the greater Boston area. In addition to gaining important skills useful in the workplace, students learn how to act in a professional environment, network with professionals and hone their interpersonal skills while being exposed to a world beyond their neighborhood. This program is preparing our students to participate in the 21st century, growing knowledge-based economy.
Students benefit from small class sizes in a culturally diverse environment while working with a highly dedicated faculty and staff. The curriculum offered at Cristo Rey Boston begins with a focus on closing any knowledge and achievement gaps in math and English along with science, history and religious education courses. Seniors are required to take at least one Advanced Placement (AP) course as part of their preparation for college. Furthermore, Cristo Rey offers personal college counseling, a crucial part of what makes our annual 100% acceptance rate to four-year colleges possible.
The information that you will find contained in these pages will guide you through the application process and get you one step closer to becoming a part of our wonderfully loving and supportive community.
