Academic Program
Cristo Rey Boston is a college preparatory high school, in the best tradition of Catholic education. We welcome students from a wide range of religious, ethnic, cultural and academic backgrounds, and we strive to bring out the personal best in each student through a balance of supportive relationships and challenging work.
Students describe our close-knit school community as “a big family.” At Cristo Rey Boston they learn to respect their differences, work collaboratively in teams, and persist in reaching high academic standards. Faculty members work closely with individual students as teachers, mentors, coaches, tutors, year-long academic advisors and ad hoc counselors. Students say teachers are demanding and strict, caring and fun.
Small classes prepare students to meet the large challenge of getting ready for college. Incoming students benefit from our innovative 9th grade curriculum, which includes an intensive focus on math and English. All students are required to take English, math, religion and science. Electives are offered in the upper grades, and every senior takes at least one Advanced Placement (AP) course. Our college counseling program prepares every student for the SAT tests and provides group and individual advising on college admissions and financial aid.

Cristo Rey Boston High School is committed to preparing its graduates for the challenges of a college education. We employ a number of innovative educational models that have had proven success around the country.
